3 elder feminist family therapists will speak about their relationship to the history and evolution of feminist family therapy. They will consider how these ideas underlie the assumptions that inform many aspects of the field including the nature of therapeutic conversations, the formulation of problems and the development of the social justice perspective. Recent conversations with some feminist family therapy pioneers will be shared concerning their ideas of where feminist family therapy is today. A general discussion with participants will follow.
Schedule: 7:00 - 8:00pm The history of Feminist Family Therapy and the influences of feminist family therapy on other family therapy practice and theories.
8:00 - 9:00pm how the assumptions underlying feminist family therapy inform current therapeutic practices.
