This course offers an interdisciplinary framework that draws from transpersonal psychology, somatic psychology, harm reduction, and current psychedelic science.
Participants will explore theoretical and clinical considerations when supporting clients who have engaged in psychedelic use, whether in clinical, ceremonial, or unregulated contexts. Core topics include the history and cultural contexts of psychedelic use, risk reduction principles, ethical considerations, integration frameworks, and the application of somatic and transpersonal perspectives to support clients in meaning-making and long-term change.
Emphasis will be placed on developing practical competencies in listening, presence, and client-centered support for those navigating non-ordinary states of consciousness. Through a combination of didactic content, case examples, and research review, participants will enhance their ability to provide informed, ethical, and culturally attuned care for clients discussing psychedelic experiences.
Note: This course does not train participants to facilitate or administer psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Rather, it equips learners with evidence-based knowledge, conceptual frameworks, and clinical tools to competently and ethically address psychedelic experiences within their existing scope of practice.
