Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) has recently emerged as one of the most innovative treatments for depression, particularly treatment resistant depression (TRD), and shows promise as well in treating anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder and other psychological conditions. Integrating pharmacological, psychological, and archetypal/transpersonal elements, KAP represents a new synthesis (or hybrid model) of psychotherapy. Empirical results, particularly during the past decade, demonstrate that ketamine and KAP may be able to assist clinical populations whose symptoms and psychological issues have not been responsive to treatment by other means. At the same time, KAP holds promise for effective treatment of individuals with end of life anxiety, existential distress and less severe diagnoses. The practice of KAP, including diverse dosing strategies, allows clinicians to craft intervention strategies at both the psycholytic (trance, self-reflective) and psychedelic (transformational/transpersonal) levels of experience. This short introductory course will cover a wide range of topics to help clinicians understand the potential use and efficacy of KAP as well as other psychedelic medicines and will present the current state of the art clinical models for these treatments. Recent promising lines of research in the field will also be briefly covered. Teachings are appropriate for healthcare professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients.

Beyond Burnout is a 4-week online workshop designed to help you avoid burnout, and creatively cultivate self-compassion for mind, body and spirit. Self-care is important for everyone. For professional caregivers, it's an ethical imperative. When we incorporate effective self-care strategies in our everyday lives, we reduce the likelihood of professional impairment. And we have energy and space for what matters most to us. In this workshop, you will practice art journaling as you learn core self-compassion principles, the warning signs of burnout, and burnout-avoiding self-care practices. The curriculum incorporates current research on burnout, self-care, creativity, self-compassion, and the body's stress-response cycle.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is gaining increasing support in the area of Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness (NOSC)-Assisted Psychotherapies. It has been used in a variety of clinical studies, including studies done at Yale University and London Imperial College. This four-hour presentation will provide a brief introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and explain why this type of therapy is ideally suited as a framework for preparation, guiding and integration of psychedelic experience. Autobiographical Therapeutic Performance (ATP) is an innovative short-term therapy approach that supports participants in identifying and transforming self-defeating “life scripts” through drama therapy processes. Are you a licensed psychotherapist, intern, MFT trainee, student, life coach or group facilitator? Do you want to learn how to facilitate drama therapy processes with individuals, couples, families and groups? Are you interested in enlivening and enriching your practice by crafting effective and creative interventions through action methods? Drama therapy can be a powerful tool in working with high functioning adults as well as special populations such as emotionally disturbed children, prison inmates, people with eating disorders and those in psychiatric settings. Therapeutic theatre techniques can also be used to work with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, as well as exploring existential and spiritual questions. CEs for Psychologists, MFTs and LCSWs available. Shy clinicians welcome! This training will provide participants with an experience of being in a drama therapy group. A variety of drama therapy techniques will be utilized, including improvisation, acting techniques, psychodrama, Playback Theatre and other action methods. The experiential portion of the training will focus on the application of drama therapy as a powerful tool in working with individuals, couples and groups. The didactic portion of the training will offer a theoretical basis and rationale for the use of drama therapy in multiple clinical situations. This training fulfills the Principles of Drama Therapy requirement for The North American Association for Drama Therapy Alternate Training Program. CEs--36 Continuing Education Credits CE credits for psychologists are provided by the Spiritual Competency Resource Center (SCRC) which is co-sponsoring this program. The Spiritual Competency Resource Center is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
